Following an interception by Jason House, Rashaun Allen scored on a 4-yard pass from Dray Joseph for the Jaguars' third straight touchdown of the quarter, which erased a 27-16 deficit.

Southern's win cut the SWAC's deficit in the series to 4-2.

The 50-year-old Mitchell spent 21 seasons as a player and assistant coach in the NFL.
